Gamescom 2024, held last week in Cologne, Germany, had an exciting atmosphere. The event, which was followed with great interest around the world, set a new milestone for the industry. The organization attracted more than 355,000 visitors from nearly 120 countries. This extraordinary number of visitors surpassed the previous year’s total of 320,000 attendees, making it one of the main global events in the industry.
Gamescom 2024 attracted 310 million online visitors
Among the remarkable data released about Gamescom 2024, it is emphasized that a record 310 million digital interactions were achieved, including video views and interactions on online platforms. Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley, alone reached over 40 million video views. This figure doubled last year’s event and attracted attention.
The event started on Wednesday and continued until Sunday. It was announced that tickets were completely sold out on Friday and Saturday. On the other hand, Devcom, a meeting for game developers, also broke a new record. Devcom brought together more than 5 thousand participants with an increase of 45 percent compared to the previous year.
Geral Bose, CEO of Koelnmesse, the organizer of the event, said: “Gamescom has once again proven its unparalleled global reach and importance as the world’s leading event for the gaming industry. We surpassed last year’s figures with record digital attendance and an increase in in-person visitors.”
With a record-breaking year in the books, the wait is already on for the next installment of the event. Gamescom 2025 is scheduled to kick off on August 20 with Opening Night Live on August 19 and run until August 24, 2025.
